Richard:
Drums
Richard honed his craft as the rhythm backbone for the band at the school of tin drum and cardboard box from a very early age. Although having near misses with clarinet and guitar he acquired his first drum kit at the age12 (a glitter gold 1960’s Premiers for all you drum geeks). He has lead a nomadic existence in bands on the Derbyshire pub circuit for many years finally finding a home with the fellow groovers.
Although adept at laying down a solid groove for the rhythm section to fit around like a tight glove, he still hasn’t mastered the basic skill of counting to four without using his fingers. This lack of ability makes holding sticks at the same time as counting in very tricky.
His musical tastes are eclectic frequently bringing much derision and abuse from the band when he proposes new number “We’re not doing that you idiot”.
When not playing drums with the groovers he is an international man of mystery frequently jetting in by the skin of his teeth for a gig to sit un-noticed but not unheard on the back-line. |
